We’ll start with a quick phone call to figure out what you need your Boston headshot for. This could be LinkedIn, your website, acting auditions, or all of the above. We’ll also chat about style, wardrobe ideas, and potential dates so you feel fully prepared before you even step in front of the camera.

Securing your Boston headshot session is easy. A quick contract and a 75% deposit will hold your spot, and the remaining 25% is due the day before our shoot.

FAQ
What should I wear for my headshot session?
Solid colors usually look best for professional headshots. Avoid busy patterns, neon tones, or clothing with large logos that can pull attention away from your face. Neutrals, jewel tones, and soft shades photograph beautifully. Make sure your clothes fit well, not too tight and not too loose. Bring a couple of options on hangers so they stay neat and ready to wear, and I will help you choose what works best during the session. For women, small and simple jewelry is best so it does not distract from your face. If you are unsure, you are welcome to text me photos of your wardrobe choices before the shoot, and I will be happy to review them with you.
Do I need professional hair and makeup for my headshot?
For women, professional hair and makeup are recommended unless you feel confident doing your own. The goal is to look polished, natural, and still like yourself. For men, makeup is not necessary, but a fresh haircut and a well-groomed beard or shave can make a big difference in your headshot. To keep shine under control, I provide both powder and blotting sheets and can apply them during the session if needed.
Do you help with posing?
Absolutely. You do not need to practice in the mirror or worry about what to do with your hands. I will guide you through poses, angles, and expressions so your headshots look confident, natural, and authentic.
How do I book a session?
The best way to book your Boston headshot session is by cell, either call or text. If I do not respond right away, I am probably in the middle of a shoot, but I will get back to you as soon as I am free. You are also welcome to email me if that is easier for you.

How long does a headshot session last?
Each headshot package has a different session length, and a little extra time is needed for setup and wrap-up. For Mini and Classic Sessions, plan on an additional 30 minutes to set up the shots and choose your favorite photos at the end of the shoot. For Full Sessions, plan on about 20 extra minutes for setup, and your gallery link will be delivered 2 days after the shoot so you can make your selections at your own pace.
Will you post my photos on social media or your website?
Most of my Boston headshot clients love being featured on my website or social media, but your privacy always comes first. If you prefer to keep your photos private, just let me know and I will gladly respect that.
Can I bring a friend or partner to the shoot?
It’s completely up to you. Some people feel more comfortable having a trusted friend or partner with them, while others prefer to come solo and focus on the session. If you do bring someone, one supportive guest works best so the shoot stays relaxed and distraction-free. If the session is for a minor, a parent or guardian must be present.
Are appointments required for a Boston headshot session?
Yes, all headshot sessions are by appointment. Each Boston headshot session is planned in advance so we can customize the setup, lighting, and style to match your goals. This ensures you get a professional experience that feels smooth, relaxed, and tailored to you.
What forms of payment do you accept?
For your convenience, I accept all major credit cards, as well as Venmo and Zelle.
What are the booking and cancellation policies?
To reserve your Boston headshot session, I require a signed contract and a 75% deposit of the session fee. Your spot is officially booked once both are complete. The remaining 25% is due the day before your session. Deposits and session fees are non-refundable, but if you provide at least 48 hours’ notice, I am happy to reschedule once to a new date that works for both of us.
What happens if it rains the day of the shoot?
If your Boston headshot session is scheduled outdoors and the weather does not cooperate, we will reschedule to a new date and time that works for both of us.
What happens if I am running late?
The most important thing is to keep me updated in real time. If your Boston headshot session is in the studio and I do not have another client right after you, I will do my best to adjust. For outdoor sessions, timing is more limited since I schedule them around the best natural light. Arriving late may reduce your shooting time and affect the quality of light we can use. To avoid any stress, plan to arrive a few minutes early so you have time to settle in and relax before we start.
Do I own the rights to my images?
Yes. You will have full rights to use your Boston headshots for personal use and self-promotion, including social media, websites, portfolios, and holiday cards. What you cannot do is sell them for profit or provide them to a third party for commercial use.
Do you travel outside of Boston for headshot sessions?
Yes! I am happy to travel for sessions, and depending on the location there may be a travel fee.
How often should I update my headshot?
I recommend updating your Boston headshot at least every two years. If you change your look, job, or brand sooner, it is a good idea to update earlier so your photo always feels current and authentic. And if people don’t recognize you from your photo, that is a sure sign it’s time for a new one.
How are the final retouched images delivered?
You will receive a private gallery link to download your final Boston headshots in high-resolution JPG format. The link will remain active for 30 days, so be sure to save and back up your photos in a safe place.
Do you keep the photos, and can I order more later?
Yes. You can order additional Boston headshots for up to 30 days after your session. After that, I clear space in my archive to make room for new shoots. If you think you may want extra images, it’s best to make your selections within that timeframe.
